Living for someone else’s good is the best definition of love we have run across. It so clearly defines the line between us and others. Each person has been giving a mission to walk out on this earth by God. That life mission is what you are good, no, great at! And God has given you just enough time to accomplish that mission. The question is, what is that mission.
The Mission
In Matthew 28, Jesus give a us all a mission:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Here at Living Hope Church we encourage each other to live out the call that JEsus has placed on our lives. We know that evangelizing can seem like an intimidating thing so, the same way that Jesus duplicated his life to the disciples we do that same. We do this by following these steps.
Invite Someone Into Your Life
The way we achieve our mission at Living Hope Church is to take our personal relationships and make them purposeful and intentional. More people are reached every day through personal, word of mouth, connections. The entire social media industry is built on the idea of us influencing our own sphere of influence. What we do is encourage everyone to connect with those around us in a away that is authentic. Learn and grow together with those around you. That is true community.
Invite that Person to Church
Inviting people to church is actually really simple. The majority of Americans are well versed in Christianity. We know what Church is and often have been to one for one reason or another. Yet the reason why we often don’t invite people is because we think they will reject us. As you build on the relationship with people in the 1st step you will find more success in this here.
Invite that Person to Christ
The Bible talks a lot, I mean a lot about sharing the message of life (the gospel) with others. So why don’t we do it? Well there are many reasons, fear, doubt, laziness, rationalization and on and on it goes. What is at the foundation of this issue is our motivations and for the next few moments we will talk about the right motivations for inviting others to know Christ. The Bible talks about witnessing and puts it into a very different light than most people think of it. The Bible calls sharing Jesus with others JOYFUL! Yep, it’s full of joy to share Jesus and until you do it, you will never fully understand what the Apostle Paul is saying here.
(Philippians 4:1) Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends!
It is the crown of joy that comes as others come to know what has changed your life. It is a deeper love, a sense of longing that your friends and family would come to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
(1 Thessalonians 2:19) For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?
